The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) is dedicated to connecting the world research with industry. CEA Science, the Fundamental Research Division has more than half of its institutes devoted to life sciences. In particular the French Genomics Institute is a international leading center in Genomics and is involved in the proposal. Its missions are to ensure:
IG has two conponents, CNS (centre national de séquençage) dealing with questions related to biodiversity and CNG (centre national de génotypage) dealing with all human projects.Through fundamental research in biology, physics and chemistry, the basic research division (DRF or CEA Sciences) strongly contributes to all of CEA research programs in many fields of expertise, from e.g. health, micro/nanotechnology and in silico approaches. The research carried out at CEA Sciences will continue to be at the core of the solutions to move past the major challenges of the 21st century.
